The Gift

My life is exactly what it is. It's my life. I don't live my life to please or to appease anyone on this earth. I strive to live to serve as a vessel for God. It gets hard at times, and I tend to fall short. However, I just continue to press on because the easy thing to do would be to simply give up. And Toni Lynn Valencia does not give up on anything or anyone that she truly believes in.

There are a number of people that have let me down in my life. Some more than others, but that's neither here nor there. It doesn't matter. It's the past. I can't go back and change it, so why waste the time pondering over it. People, the past is what it is...THE PAST! I am guilty of dwelling in the past at times, but lately God has been whispering to my spirit informing me that I need to live for today. Today is his gift to me. It is "The Present." A present is a gift right? Who would refuse a gift? Especially a gift from God.

Take the time to be appreciative instead of complaining about the things that you don't have. To have a breath in your body this day is the greatest gift a person could receive. Simply because God did not have to give it to you. This was the "present" that was given to you this morning. Live for the present. Be the best you can be. Make everyday count and Lord knows, stop worrying about things that you have no control over. Because if you don't stop, those things will control you.

Your walk, Your stride

Every time I would hit the runway, I would receive compliments regarding "My Walk." The intent of my walk was to of course appeal to the designer of choice, but to also communicate to the audience that I was a strong, confident, never-failing woman. I could walk in anything, no matter how high the heel or the length of the dress. I had my own way of "Rockin It." There were several instances following a fashion show that members of the audience would come up and ask me where I learned to walk the runway. Each time, I would tell them that I practiced day in and day out in my mirror to perfect my walk to my satisfaction. I informed them that I watched one particular woman walk at a fashion show before that absolutely intrigued me. From that day forward, I conditioned my mind to want to walk better than she. Not because I felt she was my competition, but because she truly had the walk and stride of a "BEAST" on the runway. I'm only human. I'm just a ...

Just Don't Let IT Get You Down

You can run, but you surely can't escape "Pain" when it captures you. Sometimes the pain that a person causes to your heart can be drastically life-changing. It will either do one of two things; drive you bananas or make you the strongest woman walking! One thing that you must not allow the pain to do is get you down. What person in this world is so important that you would allow them to steal your joy and cause you to forget about all of the greatness that God permitted to manifest in your life? No one on this planet is worth it. Your personal relationship with God is a bond that no human can break. However, they may be able to tamper with the bond by causing you pain, but they surely cannot break it. When you sit down and think about the hurt in your heart, think about how God made a way when you had little money, no place to stay, no food in the pantry, no clean clothes to wear, no one to talk too, and no car to drive. GOD looked out for you. Now, after taking...

BTW - By the Way

As a sat here tonight preparing for my upcoming empowerment seminar, I began to think back on how at one time I poured my heart into my blogs without considering how much of an influence my words have on the lives of others.  I've discovered a new passion for life over the last couple of years.  Mainly because I have come to the realization that life is not promised, nor does death discriminate.  I've grown spiritually, which has greatly contributed to my undying desire to serve as a blessing to the world.  We are all blessed with certain gifts and talents that are to be utilized to bring glory to God.  We are to be relentless when seeking to know God and his Word.  Nevertheless, sin is always present; however, our faith in God must remain in tact in order to escape the wages of sin - which we all know is death.  Currently, I am embarking on a fascinating journey that is allowing me to utilize not only my...
